QVC: Lori Greiner Spinning Tabletop Makeup Organizer!

Hey Cupcakes!

I can't explain to you how excited I am to share this with you all!!! I have been waiting for this to arrive in the mail for about two weeks now and today it arrived in all its glory to lift my spirits and then give me the sudden urge to buy more makeup. Dangerous, I am well aware of that!!

I am talking about the Lori Greiner Spinning Tabletop Makeup Organizer!! I found out about this product during an extensive youtube session. I was watching makeup storage videos and I stumbled across a thirty second QVC promotional video that featured a makeup organizer by Lori Greiner. The video had no audio and it was super quick but it was intriguing enough to get me to do some more research on QVC. The one that was featured in the video looked like a jewelry organizer and it was made of wood. Gorgeous!! However, it was around $70 so it was no longer that appealing to me.
That is when I found this one...I bought the one that said "As Is" because it was about $10 cheaper than the new one. "As Is" just basically means that your product might have been a returned item or perhaps it was used on air. You don't get a factory warrants but QVC will refund your money for up to 30 days if you are unsatisfied. Mine is completely fine "As Is" and I am glad that I took the chance. I figured how bad could it arrive? All in all I ended up paying around $22 and some change with all the taxes and shipping and handling.
For those of you who have never heard of this product I will supply you with a brief description (although there are pics posted below). This organizer is a hexagonal shape made of plastic. It has six sides and it rotates sort of like a Lazy Susan. Each side has different shelves and compartments so that you can store different sized products and on the top of the unit is a removable hexagon flat surface decked out with different holes that fits items like lipstick and eyeliners. I absolutely adore this storage unit!

I have to say, I would not recommend this product for someone with an extensive and massive makeup collection. This will not fit all of your makeup but this might make your everyday cosmetics more accessible. In my case, this pretty much stores all of my makeup so this is ideal and suits my needs. The only thing that I don't love about this organizer is that some of the shelves are triangular....well think of a triangle with the bottom cut off, you are storing makeup into the point of that triangle so it can make it a bit difficult to fit correctly. Other than that, this is an ingenious product and all of Lori Greiner's creations are truly one of a kind with a beauty junkie in mind!! Take a look!!

Let me know if you would like me to do a more in depth makeup collection video where I list and showcase all my products. If you see anything here that you would like me to do a review on send me a comment. If you found this post helpful or if you have any questions leave me comment and don't forget to subscribe!!

Fossil: Stella Multifunction Rose Gold Tone Dial Watch!

Hello Cupcakes!!

I just wanted to do a really quick rave!! This has become my favorite item since my mom bought it for me for my graduation!! I realized that I first needed a watch when I was student teaching. You don't realize how often you actually rely on the time until you walk into a classroom where there is not clock on the wall and you can't take out your cell phone in front of the students or else they might try to text you. I bought a cheapie one from target and it was a lifesaver! I began counting the seconds of how much class time we had left.....I knew to the exact moment how much more I had to endure until that heavenly bell rang. My mom kept on asking me what I wanted for graduation and I thought a fancy watch would be the perfect long lasting gift. I went online to Fossil.com and browsed around, their watches are all so gorgeous it was hard to choose which one I wanted. I went to Macy's to see it live and I fell in love with this one. It is beautiful with its rose gold and mother of pearl accents!! I think that this is the nicest thing I own. If you are looking for a classy watch at an affordable price, I really suggest that you try Fossil!! I know that we are in a digital age but I think watches are making their way back. Watches have this old world feel about them and make you feel expensive...I really love it. Take a look!!

I just wanted to share with you all one of my most loved items!! Don't forget to subscribe and have a wonderful day!!

Revlon Satin Eyeshadow Nude Slip vs. MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow!

Hello Cupcakes!!

I was browsing through my makeup as I often do and I came across two shades of eyeshadow that I thought might be similar if not dupes of each other. Now that I am unemployed, hopeless, and broke the only thing that seems to perk me up is makeup dupes! I love me some cheap makeup...it makes me feel like I got a deal and thus really laying to the man!! Actually non makeup talk, I am looking forward to two job interviews this weeks for a waitress position. Granted it isn't a dream job or anything but it will put money in my pockets and give me purpose instead of just wasting my life away. Anywho...

MAC's All That Glitters eyeshadow is very well known and extremely well loved. I am certain that I bought it more because it was famous but I do love the color. It is a great multi task shade that can be used as a highlight or all over the lid color. My only qualm about this eyeshadow is that it is a bit too pink as an all over lid color for me. Ok, let me explain. I love it all over the lid if I want a pinkish frosty shimmery color but often times I want it to look a bit more like my skin tone for a natural look. This is where Revlon Nude Slip comes in. I purchased this shade from Target for about $4.00 and I'm not going to lie, I swatched it in the store. Yes that is right, I opened the packaging and swiped my finger across the top to get a better feeling of the color. At first glance I thought that it would be very frosty and light but when I swiped it on my skin I realized that it was the color that I had been looking for. These two shadows are extremely similar in color except that Nude Slip has more of a beige undertone, which does a great job in blending in better for a natural look, and All That Glitters has more of a pink undertone.
Side by side the colors are almost perfect dupes but once swatched you can see the subtle difference. I do prefer Nude Slip over All that Glitters but that is just my preference. I will say that if you don't want to pay $14.50 for the MAC version then Nude Slip is a great substitution. Nude Slip also feels much softer, almost like an Urban Decay shadow, very buttery and nice. Take a look!

Let me know if you guys find these shades similar at all. If you have any question comment below or email me. If you found this helpful don't forget to subscribe!!

MAC Tinted Lip Conditioner Fushia Fix!

Hello Cupcakes!!

I must admit that the best things in life are free!! Well kind of, the great thing about graduating is not the self accomplishment or giddy sense of hope that erupts prompting you to re evaluate your life and look to a new future...commence a new journey in life. All that is great, I guess...but the true fruits of your labor arise in the form of gifts given at your graduation party!!! Oh yes all that green paper and shiny plastic, it makes you want to take flight to the nearest hill and rejoice in the sound of music!!! I really suggest that for no other reason...at least graduate for the free gifts!!

I was given a gift card to Macy's for $50 and I immediately thought of blowing it at the MAC counter. I mean really what else is there to purchase at Macy's besides cosmetics? Other than a few shadows, I wanted to make a random purchase, something I would not ordinarily buy with my own money. In the spirit of free money I picked up a tinted lip conditioner in the color Fushia Fix. Usually I spend a large portion of my day obsessively researching on youtube and blogs for my next makeup purchase. This time I threw caution to the wind and make a purchase without doing any research.

I love this product!! I did a post on the eos lip balms and I do still love those. They are super moisturizing but since I rarely wear lipstick or even lip gloss I was intrigued by the MAC tinted lip conditioner because it gives a bit of color in a lip balm form. Since purchasing this product I have seen a few reviews on youtube and people seem to be opposed to the packaging because you have to stick your finger in the product in order to apply it to your lips. For me, that is not a huge problem...I think I actually prefer it for some strange reason. This product has SPF 15 which is a huge upside and it is extremely moisturizing. Since it is only a lip tint, although the colors are very vibrant looking, the conditioner applies very sheer however, with a few swipes it is possible to get a deeper hue. This adds a lot of shine and it smells like warm vanilla. I chose the most vibrant color because I have pretty pigmented lips and I wanted it to show up. I know that Petting Pink is also a very popular shade but I feel like it wouldn't have shown up so I opted for Fuchsia Fix! I think that it adds the perfect amount of color for someone like me who doesn't usually wear a lot. Take a look!

Did you notice the massive amount of product that you get?

I forgot to mention that if you really want a good color payoff you sort of have to did into the product instead of just swirl your finger on the top or else you will just pick up the gloss part. Good rule of thumb is...you have to see the actual color on your finger.

The top swatch is what the color looks like with a couple of good swipes. The bottom swatch is just with one swipe.

Ignore the strange rectangular indentation on my arm...my watch was there.

Sorry this pic isn't spectacular and it also sort of looks like a mug shot but only of my lips...strange.

All in all I would repurchase this product and though it is a little pricey for $14.50, I really love it! The word on the street is that the Loreal H.I.P brand carries lip gellies that are comparable at about $9.00 a jar. I would have tried them but I can't find them at any drugstore.

Physician's Formula Airbrushing Kabuki Brush!

Hello Cupcakes!!!

I do realize it has been forever and whole since my last post but to be honest I haven't been enthralled by any product even though I have been purchasing a lot...well sort of. Anywho... I finished my student teaching and it was definitely bittersweet. I miss my kiddos a lot but I was glad to get out at the same time. I graduated with a Bachelors in English and I have not been able to find a job anywhere...granted it has only been three weeks but that was enough to keep me from reviewing and blogging.  On the upside, I went to Walmart and I was not planning on purchasing anything but isn't that always the case?? Anywho, I walked out with the Physician's Formula Airbrushing Kabuki Brush....Wow that is a mouthful!!! I have to say, I absolutely LOVE this brush!! I have been in search of a great flat top brush for awhile now. I purchased the Sonia Kashuk flat top foundation brush which I really enjoyed but I wish that it was a bit larger. I know gurus rave about the Sigma F-80 which is their flat top brush. The Sigma brush has been on my wish list for awhile and compared to MAC it is reasonable priced at $16 but a long with shipping and handling and tax I was being a cheap-o and waiting for something comparable in a drugstore brand. Low and behold the holy grail of kabukis or whatever the plural of that is...was sent down for about $10. I can't tell you you how amazing this product is!!! The bristles are so dense and tightly packed that it really does deliver that airbrushed look. The bristles are synthetic and so very soft and I have experienced absolutely no shedding which is synonymous with synthetic brushes. I use this with my MAC studio tech foundation in NC-30 and it goes on like a dream, I also use it with my Bare Minerals Matte foundation in Golden Medium. I have yet to try it out with a liquid foundation but since other flat top brushes have been notorious for applying even airbrushed application with liquid foundation I know this will do the same. Though I have used this to blend out my cream blushes and it really does the job with cream formulations as well. I think that if you are looking for an affordable flat top kabuki that is both large and dense you really ought to try out this product. This is hands down my favorite brush at the moment and I think I am going to go back and buy another one. My plan is to have one brush for powder products and one reserved solely for wet products such as liquid and creme formulations. At $10 of instant gratification and cute blue packaging you really can't go wrong!!

Let me know if you all are loving this brush as much as I am. If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email. Oh and ladies and gents, if you like this post don't forget to subscribe!!!

MAC Eyeshadow Palette/ Palette Decoration

Hey Cupcakes!

I was at MAC today eerily stalking past the makeup trying my best not to buy anything. I went straight for the eye shadows and each one I picked up I realized that I already had. That always happen to me, I am instantly attracted to the ones I already have anywho, that got me thinking that I should use the colors that I already have and then I thought, hey maybe someone might want to see how I decorated my palettes!! I only have 10 shades but originally I only bought 4 and I thought I was through. At that time there was no need to go out a buy a bigger palette so I went o my local Target store and picked up the ELF eyeshadow quad palette for $1.

I was hesitant at first that my MAC shadows would not fit inside the tin but low and behold it does!!
Do ya see me? Left to Right: Club, Soba
I immediately depotted my four shadows and filled up my quad. Well, after I decorated them with Polaroid pics and some good ol' fashioned Mod Podge, I realized that I had to buy more shadows and more palettes. Here is how I decorated my little quads. I have an old Polaroid camera from 1965 that I bought film for. I cut the pics to size and glued them on with some Mod Podge and a brush. It was super easy, here is how they turned out!

I have 2 decorated palettes and one blank one. They each have a pic of my boyfriend and a pic of my dog Lola!
Here is what my palettes are filled with!
Top Row: All That Glitters, Woodwinked /Bottom Row: Mulch, Twinks

Left to Right: All That Glitters, Woodwinked

Left to Right: Mulch, Twinks

Top Row: Cork, Corduroy/ Bottom Row: Shale, Sketch

As you can tell I love me some neutral colors! These are the colors I use every day and that I use the most! I don't know what colors I will get next...probably a highlighter and Carbon. I hope I have given you some ideas of how you can decorate your own palette. Let me know if anyone wants me to do a post of how to decorate your palette step by step or how to De-pot your MAC eyeshadow without heat. If you liked this post don't forget to subscribe!!
