MAC Eyeshadow Palette/ Palette Decoration

Hey Cupcakes!

I was at MAC today eerily stalking past the makeup trying my best not to buy anything. I went straight for the eye shadows and each one I picked up I realized that I already had. That always happen to me, I am instantly attracted to the ones I already have anywho, that got me thinking that I should use the colors that I already have and then I thought, hey maybe someone might want to see how I decorated my palettes!! I only have 10 shades but originally I only bought 4 and I thought I was through. At that time there was no need to go out a buy a bigger palette so I went o my local Target store and picked up the ELF eyeshadow quad palette for $1.

I was hesitant at first that my MAC shadows would not fit inside the tin but low and behold it does!!
Do ya see me? Left to Right: Club, Soba
I immediately depotted my four shadows and filled up my quad. Well, after I decorated them with Polaroid pics and some good ol' fashioned Mod Podge, I realized that I had to buy more shadows and more palettes. Here is how I decorated my little quads. I have an old Polaroid camera from 1965 that I bought film for. I cut the pics to size and glued them on with some Mod Podge and a brush. It was super easy, here is how they turned out!

I have 2 decorated palettes and one blank one. They each have a pic of my boyfriend and a pic of my dog Lola!
Here is what my palettes are filled with!

As you can tell I love me some neutral colors! These are the colors I use every day and that I use the most! I don't know what colors I will get next...probably a highlighter and Carbon. I hope I have given you some ideas of how you can decorate your own palette. Let me know if anyone wants me to do a post of how to decorate your palette step by step or how to De-pot your MAC eyeshadow without heat. If you liked this post don't forget to subscribe!!

Revlon Colorburst Review

Hi Cupcakes!

Now that I have done my eos Lip Balm post I thought I would move on to my favorite lip gloss line which just happens to Revlon's new Colorburst line. I love these lip glosses I even love them compared to MAC's lip glasses. I love lip glosses because they are glossy, they make my lips look bigger, and they are pretty sheer so I can experiment with colors and make it look more natural. I hate the fact that most lip glosses tend to be super sticky and drying, never a good mixture. I was perusing through the aisles of H-E-B (my local grocery store) and they were having a sale of $2.00 off all Revlon products. I got sooo excited that I almost ran over a little kid with my basket....what can I say, there are always casualties in the makeup war....beauty is not for the feint of heart. I picked up 4 colors from the line and I picked the brightest most vibrant colors to test them out. Let me say that I am so glad that I did. They are not sticky at all and they are very creamy. I was surprised at how pigmented they are but the color is amazing. Some of them are a bit more matte and opaque while others are more sheer and shimmery. I love both formulations. The packaging is very expensive looking and high end. I think that Revlon is really stepping up their game and they are quickly becoming my favorite drugstore brand of makeup. They are sold for around $6.00- $7.00 but with my coupon I got it for around $4.00. Walgreens usually has BOGO for Revlon products so that might be your best bet if you don't have an H-E-B. Take a look!

eos Lip Balm Review

Hola Cupcakes!

I was basically a zombie today turned on auto pilot while I was doing restroom duty at school today. I never realized how absolutely tiring it is to do nothing. You should try it sometime and let me know how it goes....it makes you want to kill yourself...the only thing that was keeping me awake was reaching into my bag and applying my lip balm. This got me to thinking how much I really love the eos lip balms. I was instantly attracted to them because of their unique and uber fun packaging, I mean they are so cute, they are little Easter eggs but year round! I bought them for $2.96 each which I have to say is a little pricey in my opinion but well worth it once you use it.

My Lip Balm Story:

My lips have always been a problem. Basically they are soooo small that you can't even see them, it is like I was born without them....I wonder if that is possible? Anywho, because they are so small, when they get chapped they become more non-existent and painful. Usually my lips are pretty dry most of the time so lip balm is a must have for me. This is the same reason why I am not a big lipstick wearer but that is another story. I have loved lip balms in the past but none like this. I have Carmex which is like a holy grail for most and I do love it because it has a great tingly sensation but it doesn't do much more than Vaseline would for me. I moved on to Burt's Bees lip balm and I loved those too but I seemed to have the same problem with every balm. Every time I reapplied any lip balm it started to build up and feel like it was just sitting on top of my lips instead of soaking into my lips. It was frustrating but I just figured that was the story of my life until I found these miracle eggs! That sounded weird and a little anatomical...anywho...

The Product:

My first swipe of eos across my lips I knew that it was different. It soaked in and moisturized my lips and made them so soft and even look bigger because they weren't so thirsty. eos is 95% organic and 100% natural. They have shea butter and vitamin E. eos is Paraben, Gluten, Petrolatum, and Phthalate free. I don't know what all that means but I do know that it is a Godsend!! These lip balms come in 5 different flavors but I only have 3. eos has a fun egg like twist off packaging and it is super fun to put on. I use this all day every day and there is no build up. These lip balms smell wonderful although they don't have a taste which I like because if they tasted as good as they smell then I might just chew off my own lips! Take a look!

Left to Right: Honeysuckle Honeydew, Lemon Drop SPF 15, Summer Fruit

BH Cosmetics Shimmer and Matte 88 Palette

Hey Cupcakes!!

This is hopefully going to be a short post but with all the pics who knows. I wanted to review the BH Cosmetic 88 palettes for you because they are soooo popular, I do have a few thoughts about them and some swatches so let's get this show on the road!

My BH Story:

When I first started to watch YouTube everyone and their mother and their little dog had either the BH Cosmetic 88 Palette or the Coastal Scents 88 Palette. They are basically the same palettes with different color variations but anywho....I was sold. I watched videos obsessively and knew that I would literally die without them. Melodramatic...absolutely! I asked my mom to get them for Xmas and so my relationship started with not one palette but two, yes you read right...two palettes. I saw endless makeup possibilities that ran farther than my wildest dreams and they had so much potential. What ended up happening was that my eyes were too big for my stomach type of deal and I think for me at least it was better in theory. Ends up I actually don't like super bright eye shadows or shadows with an extreme amount of shimmer. Who knew? Well I guess my mom might have liked to know that considering she bought it for me and I really haven't used it all that much aside from the matte black and the highlighter colors. My bad.

Packaging:

As far as the packaging is concerned, I think that it is functional. Obviously it is a basic black palette very similar to a MAC 15 eye shadow palette except it holds 88. It is extremely light weight and slim...ideal for traveling or to take with you if you ever felt the need to apply makeup to a small town. Whatever I don't know your life....Point is it is sleek and basic...no frills, nothing flashy, but not cheap either.
Product:

The color range is out of this world. It is like the big huge box of crayolas that you got as a kid except you can decorate your face!!! The shadows are extremely pigmented. They can be really chalky and create fallout but for $19.95 for 88 shadows you can buy some makeup wipes and call it a day. They do blend very well and easily so I think they are great. I own both the matte and shimmer color palette and I have to say that I prefer their matte formulation much more than their shimmer. The word on the street is (aka website and known fact) that they use mica in order to add shimmer to well to their shimmer colors. That being said the shimmer colors all have the same white pearlized shimmer to every color which can wash out the actual color and just make it look frosty on your eye. I am not a big fan and I can't really describe it all that well...sorry.
Overall:

For me, I wouldn't buy these products again...or make my mom..lol. I don't love the shimmer formulation and I do like the matte but I should have purchased the neutral matte palette because it fits my lifestyle much better. I think overall this is really my problem because I let YouTube convince me that I wanted the color palette...but please like I am really going to wear bright red eyeshadow. Half of the colors I don't use and the ones that I do I use sparingly. I have been meaning to give them away to a friend but my mom will get mad and ruin my life so probably not. Overall, I do think these are great palettes. I think that the shadows are easy to blend and gives you every color you would ever need including a matte black and white! I think that if you are a beginner with makeup this is a great buy to sort of test the waters and experiment with looks. Ordering them from the BH Cosmetic website is so simple and they come super fast. I think that at $20 it is a great purchase and I would recommend this product to someone who isn't afraid of color and likes to do bold looks. Basically I am a wimp and should find my inner rainbow. Here are some pics and be warned they aren't great, just work with me ok? Oh yeah and I wasn't about to go an swatch 176 colors like a crazy person...I don't have that much arm...lol...so basically I chose random colors that look pretty and vibrant from each palette!

Oh yeah this is what my dog Lola was doing while I was taking pictures of makeup...lol I hope you guys enjoy the review...let me know what you think of the palette if you have it and whether or not you are going to buy it or if you don't. P.S. If this review was helpful please subscribe!!

Milani Baked Blushes

Hola Cupcakes!

Today was a truly grueling day what with a full day of state testing. Actually it will be more of a fun filled week without the fun and more painstaking boredom. Anywho, while I was doing bathroom duty ALL day I was whiling away the hours thinking about what I could post today and I had a EUREKA moment!
I went to Target the other day and came across the new Milani Baked Blushes. I have put myself on a much needed blush diet vowing not to buy any new blushes but I saw there beauties and knew I had to have them. I saw them at Walmart and Walgreens also but Target sold them for about $6.50. These blushes are gorgeous and have been compared to MAC Mineralize blushes which go for around $28. I picked up three different shades and I love all of them with Coralina being my favorite.
The packaging is cute and compact. The container not only has your blush but it comes with a mirror and a brush for when you are on the go. I think that the gold face packaging is a cute addition and I would give it an A for effort. These blushes are not long wearing however no mineralized blushes really are. It is just the way they were born....like Lady Gaga. They do have great pigmentation and go on either really sheer or you can build it up. I have to say that when you swatch them on your finger they do feel a bit chalky but who cares what they feel like on your finger right? Also, the three that I own do have a fair amount of shimmer that is baked in but also flecks of actual glitter. Either silver or gold depending on the shade that I don't really love. It is the type of glitter that sort roams around your face and is big enough to actually grab with your fingers. It isn't that big a deal but could do without that addition. Other than that these blushes are really pretty and some have compared Rose D'Oro to MAC's Stereo Rose. I don't own Stereo Rose but it is a great color on its own. Take a look!!
